Did you notice how the 2000s came back with a bang for this summer? And the acronym Y2K (Y2K = year 2000) comes to reaffirm this. In the beauty area, we noticed that the use of masks, lipstick, and heavy makeup gave way to a skin dominated by multifunctional skincare products, leaving it cleaner and lighter.

In fashion, as people have spent more time at home in the last two years, high-heeled shoes and more formal clothes have given way to comfort and practicality, with more casual pieces.

Chanel 2.55 is by far one of the best known and most desired handbags in the world. This model was created because Coco Chanel could no longer stand holding her handbag in her hands. With this, the stylist designed a model with thin shoulder straps and, in 1955, updated this model and decided to name it after its launch date in February 1955. You all know that I always defend that skincare should be in first place in our daily care, right?! In my opinion there is no makeup that looks beautiful if your skin is dehydrated, it’s no wonder that one of the most sought after beauty trends of 2020 is skincare treatments. We are in an age where less is more and that’s true for fashion as well as the world of beauty.

Brands are increasingly betting on lightweight foundations, with minimal coverage and when it comes to creating makeup, the wave is to create something with fresh skin, eyebrows and eyes as natural as possible. The makeup in 2019 and 2020 arrived only to highlight what we have most beautiful, without contours and exaggerated layers of products. And for this trend to work, we have to care, clean and moisturize the skin daily.

It is no wonder that one of Yelp’s most researched subjects and services in the last year, is skincare treatments. So get ready to see a lot of fresh makeup, and if you can, invest in skincare products and treatments. If you can’t make a big investment now, bet on the basics: cleanser, cleansing tonic, moisturizer and sunscreen, only these products, used daily, will make a big difference in your skin.

And when we least expected it, here they are again, the metallics have come back with full force to the fashion scene and have been the protagonist of many streetstyle looks. Whether gold, silver, bronze or any other color, metallic came and this time can be seen in skirts, pants, jackets, blouses and even accessories, what matters is to put together a harmonious composition and rock the look.

Metallic by itself already draws a lot of attention, so my main tip for you who likes the trend, but wants to start slowly, is to match it with another more basic piece, such as jeans, or a white blouse, for example. Another point to consider for those who want to take a little more risk, is that the metallic pieces are usually solid, so they can be combined with pieces that have prints. It’s bolder, but the result can be fantastic. For those who want a more romantic look, the floral patterns offer a very feminine touch. Whether influenced by boudoir style or by classic party dresses, satin has gained a lot of space in urban fashion in recent times. And there are those who say that, decades ago, it was only reserved for off-street occasions. Today, you can see the synergy between fabric and other everyday items such as jeans and t-shirts. The trend also had that little streetstyle push, with fashionistas parading around in super desirable – and not obvious – looks. Here are examples of how Camila and I brought satin to our ensembles. While she invested in the monochromatic overlay consisting of slit spaghetti strap dress + turtle neck knit blouse, I opted for a satin Tufi Duek tailoring set. Notice how, regardless of the aesthetic proposal, it is possible to create outfits with the effect of  the material – from cool slipdress to suit a with high dose of elegance.

Already on the runways, it is likely that you have seen, mainly, hybrid pieces as protagonists of the scene. For Deveaux, the black chemise proposes chic minimalism with an asymmetrical skirt, frill shoulders and a belt tied at the waist. In Marina Moscone’s collection, the jumpsuit plays with tailoring structure + deep neckline.

Among Jonathan Anderson’s ultra-modern creations for Loewe, an interesting encounter between turtle neck and skirt modeling that dares in the illusion of overlap – and this can be due thanks to the difference in fabrics or the fact of that it features localized prints. With Olivier Rousteing’s powerful view, Balmain presented a dress with not so obvious cutouts and with a certain depth.

Betting on the solar card, Jonathan Simkhai and Balenciaga chose orange and yellow as their protagonist colors, respectively. While the first invested in the version of the jumpsuit with the frill top and the bottom of the pants touching the floor, the other opted for the waist-tied chemise, which comes in the shape of the skirt. Two striking and sophisticated pieces in the same measure!

Tie-Dye is a very old dye technique and was very popular in the 60s and 70s, or became a hallmark of the hippie movement. In the 2000s, this trend reappeared in the fashion world and it seems that we will start to see this model as the protagonist of many who do not seem to be a street style.

The colorful print brings a more fun vibe to the look and therefore allows us to play with the compositions no matter what the occasion, whether for something more casual, pairing with jeans, or something more composed, with a midi skirt, for example.  Tie-Dye has everything to be your darling print of the moment, and for today’s post I brought some very beautiful inspirations that I found on the internet and that will surely help you visualize your next look using this print. I started looking for references to see if I would get excited about this trend and of course I fell in love and can say I’m already looking forward to putting together a look with a thin headband. After all, there is nothing better than when something comes back in style to help us innovate our overall outfit and break the bad hair day, wouldn’t you agree ?!

Be it with the hair up or down, the cool thing about these headbands is that they automatically give a more feminine look to the ensemble, so my tip is to bet on the contrast, maybe playing with a heavier makeup or even a more laid-back look.
