Once you have these three items, you’re just a few minutes away from gel-free nails—just follow the four steps below.

Step One: File down the top coat.

Since a gel manicure typically consists of a few layers, you’ll want to take your nail file and buff down the top coat of polish. You’ll want to file about half way through and then let the acetone work to remove the rest of the gel. File with even pressure around the nail and stop if you ever get to a point where you feel pain. Make sure not to file too far down (never all the way to your nails) so that you don’t accidentally damage your nail.

Step Two: Soak your nails in acetone.

Part of the double-edged sword of gel nail polish is that it doesn’t easily come off, which is great when you want to go weeks without chipped nails but not so great when trying to remove it. For this reason, regular nail polish remover won’t work on gel manicures—You’ll need pure acetone to free your nails at home. Once you’ve finished step one and buffed down the top layer of gel, soak a cotton ball in acetone and lay it on top of each nail, then wrap each finger in foil to really hold the acetone on there. Wait at least ten minutes for the gel to start to lift.

Step Three: Peel off each nail.

Once your nails have soaked in acetone for at least ten minutes, the gel should start to lift and peel off easily. Don’t force it though—if one nail isn’t coming off easily go ahead and soak it another five minutes until the acetone loosens the gel to a point where you can remove it gently. If you own a cuticle pusher you can also use that to (gently!) help lift the gel polish off of your nail.

Step Four: Treat your nails with oil.

Once all your gel nail polish is removed, your nails will most likely be feeling sensitive for a while. Nourish your nails by applying coconut or olive oil (or nail strengthening oil, if you have it) a few times a day to help moisturize your nail beds. It’s a good idea to take a little break from nail polish to let your nails recover, and once you are ready to paint your nails again using a strengthening base coat is a great way to keep your nails looking healthy.

A few months ago I changed the format of my nails, for so many years my nails have been squared  so I decided to change a little and leave them round. For those know are not familiar with this format, it is known as almond nails and they are the latest trend right now. So many celebrities around the world are trying out this trend. Some like to leave the nails a bit more sharp, which is also beautiful! Check out some beautiful inspirations below!

In my opinion, it leaves the hands with a super chique and stylish look and with the impression of the nails looking a bit longer than they actaully are. LOVE IT!

As for the nail polish I chose this week, I went with a sophisticated burnt pink/mauve. This one is Must Have Mauve by Morgan Taylor, which left my nails with a shade that I love and is also a trend right now! Check it out:

I haven’t shared my nails of the week here in a while now! For this upcoming weekend (which will be my birthday, haha) I decided to wear this stunning nude with a grayish undertone! The color is Strings in Knots by Venique.

I have been loving my nails in this pointy format, Ive given the square shape nails a break haha. Check out this color!

You all know how much I love making posts about nails, nail polish that I am wearing and loving and also everything new that appears in this universe. For this reason today came show a surprising tend, and let just say, quite different, which emerged in South Korea – the shattered nails. The idea started with cellophane paper which reflect giving the impression of precious stones, and from there on some local brands have started to create their own adhesives.

I think the idea is very different and innovative, yet I can only imagine how much work it might be when glueing these adhesives to the nails. Haha. For girls who like nail art, it is worth checking out the instagram of the Korean Salon who created this trend – Unistella.

The idea is to only wear it on one finger or the whole hand, I think I would first try it on only one finger. Haha. What about you ladies?

This weeks nails of the week was also last weeks nail polish! I loved the color so much that I wore it two weeks straight!!! Haha. I love it when my manicurist Lucinha has several new colors and designs! This color, Island Hopping, is by Essie and it is one of the new colors for autumn. It is a guava nude shade, such a beauty! (Even my husband that doesn’t really care much for nail colors said: wow babe this color is super chic! hahaha)

The color is really stunning and I even went out and bought it for my collection! Check it out.

Ever since I started with the blog I always try to shared my nails of the week. Today I decided to share with you some trends that are must haves for this upcoming season.

Almond Nails

This might be the style that many of you will have different opinions about. This rounded shape has come in full force and we have seen Kylie Jenner rocking them a lot. I think it’s super different but beautiful in some people. Would you wear your nails like this?

White Nail Polish

Yes! The white nail polish that we wore years ago is back in style! This is one of the trends that I like the most. I think it looks super chic and stylish. In addition, it leave the hands so beautiful!

Asymmetrical Designs

For those who like to designs on your nails, run to the salon and ask already them to do this asymmetrical shape. To look cool,  nail must be painted with a clear nail polish and a darker one on top to create this effect. The Brazilian actress Giovanna Antonelli has been seen rocking this trend so much!

Metallic

Finally: the metallic nail polishes! They are a big hit right now especially the silver and gold. I think they are amazing because it five a futuristic touch to the nails! It is a great option for those who want to dare and try something new!

Like a good girly girl, I decided to paint my nails with one of the most feminine colors that exists – the purple with a pink undertone. I chose “my nail polish” Purple Dream, a color that I created my my collection with YNC!
