To explore this magical corner, declared a Natural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, you will need at least one week. There are only 4 inhabited islands in the archipelago: Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, Isabela and Floreana. TULUM HAS NEWS IN SIGHT

All we need after the suffering of this crazy pandemic is protection, hug, affection, comfort, and a nest! It is exactly within this concept that the Cocoon Hotel & Resort, in Tulum, one of the most exclusive and untouched corners of the east coast of Mexico, almost on the border with Belize, emerges.

Imagine five large sustainable nests nestled in the exotic jungle, with elements inspired by the blue of the Caribbean Sea and designed within the concept of ecotourism. Altogether there will be three residential cocoons with 204 apartments, two cocoons for the hotel with 167 accommodations and 16 private villas, in Selva Zamá. An innovative project born from the hands of the Spanish architecture and design studio, DNA Barcelona Architects.

The idea is to create a space to escape from everyday life, in an isolated, silent environment that gives the guest the possibility to reconnect with themselves and the local community, Aldeia Zamá. Respect for the ecosystem and biodiversity are part of the signature of the project created from natural materials that minimize the impact of construction. The water collection system will take advantage of the rain and solar panels will be installed to obtain sustainable energy.

Each cocoon will have its own natural pool that simulates a cenote (a place considered sacred by the Mayan people which means “cave with water”), area for sports activities, children’s recreation, bar and restaurant. All connected by gardens and tranquility on the Yucatán Peninsula.

Hotels connected with the local community and with projects aimed at preserving the environment deserve our respect. More and more we have to worry about what we leave in the places we go through. Thus, we are happy to do our part and with the certainty that we are leaving a clean world for the next generations.

NANNAI BRINGS NEW AIRS TO NORONHA

There’s news in the area! After winning over many fans with its usual hospitality in Muro Alto, Pernambuco, Nannai blows new winds over the island of Fernando de Noronha and announces the opening of Nannai Noronha Solar dos Ventos for December. I already want it! I am very excited to return to this very exclusive island in the northeast of Brazil and meet the Noronha version of Nannai. How about you?

The island of Fernando de Noronha has one of the most important marine life sanctuaries in the world and has been declared a Unesco Natural World Heritage Site. It is undoubtedly one of the most incredible places in Brazil! Nannai Noronha Solar dos Ventos comes to unite with great responsibility: nature and sophistication. There are only ten comfortable, spacious and very private accommodations, 400 meters from Baía do Sueste, one of the most beautiful on the island. Eight bungalows and two apartments, all overlooking the sea.

The Inn will have an infinity edge pool in the center of a large green area, a boutique with the island’s DNA and a restaurant that promises to please with fish and seafood from the region prepared with ingredients from the property’s organic garden.

There are daily flights to Recife and Natal with Gol and Azul. Want to know the best time to go? All year round! The island has two seasons: a dry season from September to March and a rainy season from April to August. But, the rains are fleeting and the temperature is always pleasant. It is worth remembering that to enter Noronha you must pay an Environmental Preservation Fee (TPA), which is charged according to the number of days on the island. It is very important to avoid mass tourism in such a special place.

TANKAMANA, A GREEN REFUGE IN RIO DE JANEIRO

There goes five months of quarantine. Who would have guessed that we would be isolated for so long, right? Lucky for those who took advantage of this time to take on a new look, as was the case of Pousada Tankamana, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. If it was already one of the darlings of the Serra Fluminense, now that it has reopened in new, more sophisticated clothes, it is even more inviting.

Tankamana is located in the Cuiabá Valley, 75 kilometers from Rio, 20 minutes from downtown Itaipava. It is one of those perfect places to renew your energy and enjoy days of great tranquility in contact with the exuberant nature of the Atlantic Forest. Fundamental to maintaining physical and mental health after the madness of this compulsory confinement caused by the coronavirus. Pousada Takamana has only 16 rustic-romantic style accommodations. So, imagine enjoying one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in the northeast – Praia do Preá – in a recently inaugurated sand hotel with an innovative concept of hospitality. Ostentation leaves the scene and the curtains open for ultra personalized service, with total focus on the privacy of the guests. Perfect Combo!

With the relaxed atmosphere of a beach house, the Casana opened its doors in 2019, in the state of Ceará, with only eight elegant bungalows built between white sand dunes and sparkling water lagoons. Without neglecting for even an instant sustainability, the hotel was designed by Natália and Jimmy, the owner couple, to serve with excellence the most demanding guests, always in direct connection with nature.

He is Swedish, with a stamped passport in more than 110 countries. She is Brazilian, born in the capital of Ceará. They met while practicing Kitesurf and decided to undertake in the surroundings of Jericoacoara. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS

April, A little holiday rolling during the spring in Paris and how are we? Traveling on the sofa and dying to see the City of Light again, toasting to the sunny days with a beautiful glass of champagne, feeling the smell of croissants coming out of the oven, sitting in a good cafe to watch life happen without haste. But, until this happens in practice, we will see Paris on the small screen, from home.

For starters, I suggest the French series Dix pour Cent which is already in its fourth season and shows behind the scenes of an agency in charge of taking care of the career of great talents, some of Paris’ most beloved postcards, iconic hotels and the delicious movement in the streets. It’s a great way to get inside the screen.

Those who have not yet seen the film Midnight in Paris directed by Woody Allen have the chance to immerse themselves during quarantine in the romantic and nostalgic Paris where the writer Gil (Owen Wilson) takes night trips. Surprisingly at the bells ringing at midnight he is transported to 1920, the golden age of France, where he experiences great moments.

Also watch Amélie which received several Oscar nominations and had a surreal box office during its release. Arriving in Paris from a country town, Amélie moves to Montmartre, where she works as a waitress. She starred in many scenes in the beautiful Parisian landscape as she discovered that helping others can change her world. It’s worth the popcorn session!

And this way we can reminisce this city full of personality, which is sewn by art, history, gastronomy and fashion. Soon Paris will receive us resplendent and with open arms.
