Celebrated on July 29, lipstick day has countless curiosities and, at each moment in history, it was seen and represented in a different way. With that in mind, today we came to tell you a little about the history of this product!

1. In ancient Egypt, men and women dyed their lips daily and that was synonymous of status!
2. Cleopatra loved to dye her lips, but unlike the lipstick we know today, she used flowers, crushed beetles, and even semi-precious stones to get her lips colored..
3. On the other hand, Greek women used a red root mixed with honey wax, which left the lips with a healthier and more moist appearance. Almost a balm, right?
4. During the Middle Ages, lipstick was banned by the Catholic Church as it was seen as immoral and a sin.
5. In the reign of Elizabeth I, lipstick was made with beeswax and vegetable dyes. The Queen was so fond of using the product that she simply ignored Church rules, and more: she launched a beauty trend from the use of lipstick. The skin should be as white as possible and the lips very red.
6. It was only in 1880 that the first lipstick – more like the shape we know – was launched and marketed by Guerlain!
7. Lipstick gained popularity after World War II, when makeup gained prominence in the movie industry and actresses such as Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor popularized lipstick. Soon, this product started to be used in different occasions.

Summer is already coming to an end but in Brazil, spring is approaching and you guys know how much I love this time of the year, right?! I wake up in a good mood just by seeing the sun shining through the window, even my makeup changes. During this season, I like to go for more colorful lipsticks and vibrant eyeshadows with lots of shimmer. Who else is like this? Haha.

Therefore, to take advantage of some new launches from Natura Aquarela,  I created a super easy to do makeup with a brown and champagne smokey! To finalize, I applied a few coats of mascara, brown kajal liner, and a touch of color on the lips with a pink Matte lipstick that I love!

2- Natura Aquarela Balm Lipstick in Guava: Natura’s balm lipsticks are the type of products that are a must have in your purse. Not only do they have a 24hr hydration formula, it is full cover and with a precise application. I love this shade, it’s so IN right now and it goes well with various looks!

3- Natura Aquarela Matte Pink 03 Lipstick: This was the lipstick I wore today, I am in love with matte lipsticks! The cool thing about this lipstick is that it doesn’t dry out the lips and it leaves it with an intense and uniform color. Tip: for those who like this effect, dazzle yourselves in glitter and highlighter in other areas of the face!

4. Hydrating Lipstick in Red 45: I loveee this shade of red!  It leaves the look super vibrant and goes with practically all skin tones. It is a classic lipstick that hydrates your lips immediately and has a creamy finish.

With that being said, I created four different and super versatile makeups with nude and brown lipsticks with Natura Aquarela products for you to inspire yourselves! The nice thing about it is that it works in any time of the day and occasion and the results are so glamourous. Check it out:

Products used: Liquid Lipstick: Boca 06 | Mono Eyeshadow: 16 Matte brown | Blush: Aquarela color 1

For the first makeup, I chose a bold brown matte and super pigmented eyeshadow and finalized with a pink blush and a beautiful liquid lipstick that I love!

Products used: Creamy Lipstick: Brown 66 | Mono Eyeshadow: 19 Gold | Kajal Pencil: Brown

For the second, I went for a more neutral and highlighted gold eyeshadow and brown pencil on the waterline. The main focus was the brown lipstick for being creamy and a hint of metallic which left the makeup super glam.

Products used: Gloss Lipstick: boca 01 | Highlighter: Marmorizado | Kajal Pencil: brown

This is the type of makeup that is super simple yet beautiful, right?! I used a marbled highlighter, which I love, as an eyeshadow for a fresh effect. To follow the natural and chic look, I finalized with a nude lipstick.

Products Used:  Balm lipstick: Boca | Highlighter: Marmorizado | Liquid liner líquido: black

The last makeup is that simple one that you guys always see me wearing, of course I had to include it here! I used that highlighter again as an eyeshadow and used the liquid liner to create cat eyes. I finalized with my favorite balm lipstick. I love the results of this makeup!

As you know I loveeeeee lipsticks, my mother always tells me that since I was little I’ve always loved doing my makeup and I would choose the darkest lipstick to put on, haha. Until today it has not changed, one of my favorites is the red, I love it for being a classic and bold color.  For this reason, Natura Aquarela created the #MEUVERMELHO (#MYRED) movement, which is nothing more than an invitation to all women to find their perfect red. We grew up hearing that there is the right time and place to wear red lipstick, right?! However this is not always the case, yes it can be worn at any time such as to work or a party during the day or night. Hidrates and protects the lips, a classic and chic burgundy.

I love the pigmentation of this lipstick, it’s a lighter red but is absolutely gorgeous.

MATTE LIPSTICK NATURA AQUARELA VERMELHO 02 (RED 02)

I am in love with the matte finish because it is longer lasting on the lips. This is the shade of red that every woman should have! haha

Also matte finish but in a darker tone.

As I said, my personal favorites are the matte because it leaves the look more elegant and lasts longer on the lips! I love the combination of cat eyes and red lipstick, however for the days that I want really stand out, I do a stunning smokey and choose one of my favorite reds.  Many of you ask me what eyeshadows colors to wear with a dark lipstick and the truth is that there is no rule, what really matters is that you feel beautiful and confident with the chosen makeup.

What I like most about the red is that it transforms any makeup to a bold and powerful look. Take a look at the before and after that I made to show the difference that it can create. In the second picture, it seems that I did a totally different makeup, don’t you think?! However, I only applied the Red 09 Gloss. This is why I LOVE the red shades! haha!

Some tips that are worth to keep: Before applying a red lipstick, always use a moisturizing lipbalm to hidrate the lips, so it doesn’t make your lips too dry throughout the day. Another tip is to dab some concealer or foundation on your lips before applying the lipstick, this will make the color more vibrant and make it last longer. When I want my lips with a fuller aspect, I apply a matte lipstick and on the center of my lips, I apply a gloss in the same shade. It gives and INCREDIBLE effect!

BATOM BALM NATURA AQUARELA PINK: Starting off with this beautiful pink, this color is part of the balm collection that I love and I always have one in my purse! This pink is an awesome choice to strike out with a bold look!

BATOM BALM NATURA AQUARELA LIGHT PINK: Another balm by Natura Aquarela, I love this light pink because it is so romantic and goes well with pretty much anything you wear – the cool thing about the balms is that it hydrates the lips and they come in super intense shades, this color you can wear it during the day or at night.

BATOM NATURA AQUARELA HYDRATING BOCA 33: I love nude lipsticks! This is one that I have been wearing a lotttt! I love this color for being so versatile, you can wear it with a bold makeup or even with a more natural one!

BATOM NATURA AQUARELA MATTE NUDE 06: This is such a beautiful nude for having a matte finish – which I love. It has a pinkish undertone and looks amazing with bold smokey eyes!

BATOM NATURA AQUARELA BURGUNDY 01: Esse This burgundy is so sensual! This color looks great on colder days, it is matte but does not dry out the lips!

BATOM NATURA UNA VERMELHO 2: I am OBSESSED with red, you all know that right?! I had to share this one with you guys. It is a super intense color and it lasts for soo long on the lips. If you have a red lipstick and thats all you need! haha

Today I am here to talk about a color of lipstick that I love: red.  This color, not only does it match any skin tone, it has the ability to transform a simple makeup into a more sophisticated and stylish one, don’t you think?!  But I receive many questions from you saying that you think it’s hard to find the right tone of red. Therefore, to help, today I have come to show some Natura Aquaerela lipsticks, a makeup line by Natura which highlights the Brazilian beauty. They launched a movement to break this taboo, because they believe that all women can and should dare to wear this beautiful tone and still show that there is a red for all of us.

I received various beautiful colors, but I seperated the ones I liked the most and am completely in love with. Check it out: Red 45 was one of my favorites, because it is vibrant and it gives a touch of style which gives life to the makeup. In addition, it also hidrates the lips.

I love burgundy tones of lipsticks especially with a matte finish. I loved the Vinho 1 (Burgundy 1) because it has high coverage and lasts sooo long.

The Coral 65 is so me,  which is still a reddish and vibrant tone. It is perfect for the da-to-day! I am in love!

For a lighter finish, a good option is the Red 21 Gloss, because it brings the liveliness of red with high shine. In addition, gloss always gives a more jovial look to the makeup!

So, did you find your red? A super important tip for when you create a look with a darker lipstick is to concentrate on a well done skin and not so bold with the eyes…therefore leaving the lipstick the prime focus of the completed makeup.
