Are you packing for a summer destination? Don’t leave out the yellow pieces! This color shines in the hottest season of the year, as it is cheerful, vibrant and full of life. But how can we incorporate yellow into our summer outfits without making mistakes? I’ll share some tips and inspirations of looks I’ve already worn, so you can shine under the sun in style.

Long dress: Elegance and freshness

A long yellow dress is the perfect piece for a sunny day or a summer evening. I like to choose light fabrics such as cotton, linen, satin or even silk, which guarantee comfort and freshness.

For a daytime look, I chose a straight strapless model in a flowing fabric and contrasted it with gold accessories, which add more power and elegance to the look. In the evening, a block heel or even a rope sandal will add a sophisticated touch, perfect for a dinner by the sea.

Bikini: Energy and style at the beach

There’s nothing more energizing than a yellow bikini to brighten up your look at the beach or pool. I love classic models like the triangle bikini, which is perfect for sunbathing. To balance out the look, I invest in a beach cover-up in neutral tones, like white or light blue, allowing the yellow to stand out. And of course, you can’t forget sunglasses and a stylish hat to protect yourself and complete the look.

Yellow Hat: Protects and brings a touch of fashion

A yellow hat is the perfect accessory to spice up your summer look. I prefer medium models, which not only protect you from the sun, but also add an extra dose of style. This model is versatile and allows for countless combinations, as well as being a great piece for those days when you want to be protected and, at the same time, full of personality.

Incorporating yellow into tops, dresses and skirts is a fun way to bring this color into everyday life. The trick is to mix yellow with prints or rhinestones, knitwear or crochet, adding an extra touch of style and sophistication to the look. The secret is to balance the colors and textures.

I like to complement it with a straw bag and comfortable flip-flops, creating a practical look full of charm.

4 Looks for Paris Fashion Week

I had the honor of attending iconic and luxurious shows during Paris Fashion Week. The fashion shows are always a show apart and getting to see first-hand the collections and trends that are going to be a hit next year is always very exciting.

And of course I couldn’t help but wear looks that already carry powerful trends and details from a brands. Below, check out an analysis of my choices for each moment.

Chanel

For Chanel, I chose a monochromatic look that reflects the brand’s sophistication. The all-black look, consisting of a mid-neck blouse and a flowy, slightly sheer skirt, creates a classic and powerful silhouette. The mix of fabrics adds a touch of modernity, while the accessories – a shoulder bag with the CC embossed all over the strap and pointed-toe boots – bring the luxury that is characteristic of Chanel. The loose, wavy hair and light makeup enhance the clean, refined look.

MIU MIU

For MIU MIU I chose a bolder, more contemporary look. The voluminous brown coat is the highlight of the outfit, while the classic white tank top and leather mini shorts have strategic details that convey a subtle sensuality without losing charm.

The tights and strappy pumps contrast with the elegance of the coat, creating a balance that is both modern and casual. To top it off, there’s nothing better than accessories, such as this pearl necklace, sunglasses and a minimalist bag, which reinforces the focus on the weight of the coat and the details of the look, characteristic of the MIU MIU aesthetic.

Victoria Beckham

For Victoria Beckham’s show, I chose a neutral palette with earthy tones and black, reflecting the brand’s minimalist elegance. The cool brown leather dress creates a sexy, elegant and feminine vibe to the look. The leather gloves complement the outfit, adding a touch of power to the look. The ponytail and neutral makeup complement the unpretentious yet sophisticated look.

Loewe

Lastly, for Loewe’s show, I chose structured pieces that would create a cohesive look. The main piece was a classic gray sweater, which I adapted to be cropped, ensuring a balanced and comfortable feel to the look. The choice of the color scheme and the bag, in contrast to the military green of the tailored pants, perfectly matched Loewe’s unique aesthetic. The silver glasses and shoes complemented the look, highlighting the artistic and conceptual character of the brand.

You know that I love a monochromatic look full of information and not at all boring, right? Therefore, today I came to share with you some tips for following this trend that never goes out of style and still adds a good dose of style!

Elegant and modern at the same time, the monochrome look suits different occasions, from formal to social events! You can start by trying out sets or overlays that incorporate this style, such as jackets, scarves or vests.

Barbie look with Chanel

Recently I was able to attend Chanel’s show in Paris, which presented its Fall-Winter 2023/24 Haute Couture collection! “Imagined by Virginie Viard [the collection] reveals a portrait of delicate yet daring femininity,” explains the fashion house.

And to honor this iconic moment on the banks of the Seine, I chose an all Chanel look, very much in the Barbie mood, or as some commented, Blair Waldorf lol.

Made in the classic tweed fabric, this pink set is very well structured to the body and has powerful buttons in the same fabric and shade.

The skirt has long pockets at the front and thin V-shaped cut-outs at the bottom, adding a modern touch to the garment.

On my feet, I chose a modern and comfortable sling-back with rhinestones and grosgrain, as well as silver and black details. The other accessories in the outfit followed the same minimalist and classic color palette.

Speaking a little about the Fall-Winter 2023/24 Haute Couture collection: “The silhouettes play with masculine codes, mixing rigor and asymmetry, a self-confident and discreet figure. It is adorned with embroidered fruits and flowers, reminiscent of the living natures dear to the pictorial arts”.

Neutral tones may even seem more basic, but they have the power to make any look more elegant and sophisticated, even more so when they vary between lighter tones, from white to beige and even the most earthy and gray tones.

At one point of the look or following the monochrome and minimalist style, these tones are versatile and go well on different occasions, from the most formal to the informal, day or night. If you are afraid that the outfit will look dull, the tip is to choose a fabric and a model that highlights the tone and automatically enhances the body. Check out some looks in light neutral tones below for inspiration.

A Touch of Color

If you are starting to wear neutral looks now or you can’t do without a touch of color, how about choosing a colorful detail that enhances the outfit? You can bet on a neutral set with a colored lingerie or even shoes in another tone. This way, the look is not polluted and the tones are harmonic.

Elegant Fabrics

You can’t go wrong: neutral tones are even richer when used in elegant fabrics that guarantee a modern fit that “adjusts” to the body. The all white look never goes out of style, regardless of the trend of the moment! This option is super safe and versatile, matching different occasions – besides being very stylish, of course. You can mix fabric textures or even bet on the classic set. Super democratic, right?

The denim fever

Versatile, timeless and unique at the same time, jeans are iconic in the closet and are present in different pieces, with numerous fits and allowing for different combinations! However, due to the high resistance of the classic denim fabric, did you know that jeans are of European origin (they were born there in 1500, in France) and were initially created to compose the resistant uniform of field workers and sailors for long trips?

Later, around 1873, the classic classic jeans “migrated” to the United States and were patented by the tailor Jacob Davis and by the owner of a fabric factory, Levi Straus, owners of the jeans we know to this day, made with a dyed fabric as well as sturdy pockets and rivets. Years later, in 1928, they registered the Levi’s name as a trademark.

It wasn’t until 1934 that the first women’s jeans appeared, the Lady Levi’s (which still exists today), which was made from pre-shrunk denim and produced with many characteristics of men’s 501® jeans. They owe their feminine glow to an elegantly high, fitted waist.

Have you ever wondered why there is a smaller pocket inside your front pocket on your jeans? It was created to hold nails and coins, as well as to protect pocket watches, which were often used in the past.

Classic jeans have an indigo hue, which lies between violet and blue. With just one drop it is possible to dye a pair of pants. Oh, and the dye comes from the “Indigus” flower.

Despite being a classic to this day, jeans were once controversial. This is because, until the 50’s, the piece couldn’t be worn in environments such as theaters, churches and balls, seen as a symbol of rebellion. Later, famous people like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Marlon Brando, and Audrey Hepburn were the first to wear the piece, which thus became a fashion trend.

The first brand to take jeans to the runway was Calvin Klein, which made a show exclusively with denim pieces, in 1970.

Don’t get it confused:

Denim – It is the raw fabric that gives origin to the pieces.
Jeans – The finished pieces, with their own pigment and washing.

A lover of monochrome? Yes! With jeans? Even better!

As you may have noticed, in my latest looks shared on Instagram (@camilacoelho) I’ve been loving betting on all denim looks, with different cuts, details, fits… and why not, even on the feet?

And this time, I chose a Jimmy Choo accessories, from bag to shoe, with classic closet pieces that work great in all seasons, wearing them alone or as layering, of course.

With a light wash and slightly distressed, I bet on a pair of denim shorts and a jacket with an oversized fit, rich in details such as the shoulder pads, different seams along the piece and even an oval collar!

And since I take the monochrome style seriously lol, for an extra dose of style, on my feet I also chose a piece with jeans, from Jimmy Choo’s Diamond collection. It features a JC monogram on the fabric and ankle chains, plus a powerful 100mm slim stiletto heel.

Did you notice that the strap of the bag also features the same style of chain (which is made of brass hardware)? Versatile, this piece is also part of the Diamond collection and is crafted of buttery calfskin leather with a smooth silhouette, giving it a sleek and modern look.

Looks: A New Season

Spring has arrived and looks full of layers are giving way to more versatile pieces that mix light fabrics and different lengths to keep you warm or cooler throughout the day.

I have already started to explore my closet for this season and of course I couldn’t leave monochromatic looks (my favorite! aside). Check it out:

Feminino, jovial e com um toque moderno, o rosa bebê foi o destaque para esse look quentinho que escolhi usar em Paris. O clima estava começando a mudar ainda, por isso usei um suéter de gola alta oversized e um longo e clássico trench coat. Para combinar, usei uma bota de cano alto envernizada e escolhi uma minissaia jeans com uma lavagem leve, tipo azul bebê para fechar o look com chave de ouro.

Feminine, youthful and with a modern touch, baby pink was the highlight for this warm look I chose to wear in Paris. The weather was just starting to change, so I wore an oversized turtleneck sweater and a classic long trench coat. To match, I wore patent leather high boots and chose a light blue wash denim miniskirt to finish off the look.

In Miami, with a slightly cooler climate, I chose this complete set from ETRO’s Spring-Summer 2023 collection, made of wool and in a gradient style. I wore a comfy cropped sweater, a pair of mini shorts, and a long button-down cardigan, all hand-embroidered in the same knit fabric and color shading.

And we had a hotter day, an almost summer lol. So, I chose a complete look from Zen, with a tie-up top and cargo pants with side pocket, both pink! The top was developed in exclusive mesh and its closure is made by ties at the neck and waist. The pants are versatile and comfortable, with pleats below the waistband and pockets on the front, back and sides.
